Polao Recipe—Basanti or Mishti Polao Ranna—Bengali Sweet Polao

Ingredients

1. 500gm rice (gobindo bhog chal)

2. 5gm cinnamon stick

3. 6-7 cloves and cinnamon

4. 10gm Turmeric powder

5. Ghee (as required)

6. Bay leaf 4 pic

7. Cashew nut 10gm

8. Raisins 10gm

9. 10gm Powdered sugar

10. 1020ml water


Procedure

  • Take the rice and wash it properly and rinse it and air dry it.

  • Now, add the whole spices and add 10gm of ghee and turmeric powder and mix well and keep for at least 1 hour.

  • Now heat 10 gm of ghee in a pan and add the cashew nut and add the rice and cook for 5 minutes and add the raisins and keep stirring for 2 more minutes.

  • Now add boiling water 1050ml and cook on low heat for 15 minutes remove the lid and add sugar and stir it and cook in 5 more minutes.

  • Serve it and enjoy but it tastes one day later the most.
